Silky Cotton Candy Tunic

I started making another little shirt for Bella.  I want to give this girl more options than simple cotton t-shirts from Target.

I wanted to make a simple white tunic and then add some embroidered embellishments at the bottom.  Something reminiscent of the old fashioned button candy.  Trying to use up fabric I had on hand, I choose a white shiny voile.

And I mean this thing shines.  It actually looks like it should be more special occasion, and would even be a great option as a christening gown.

I held off on adding the colored embellishment for now.  Here is sort of how I envision it would be if I added it, except maybe smaller circles and two rows of dots.  With the shine this shirt puts off, I just don’t think color is the way to go, I think it leans itself more towards something metallic.

Little leopard leggings anyone?  Or maybe even some Christmas plaid pants and have it be seasonal?  We shall see.

  1. It's so pretty! Plaid pants would be adorable with it - plus they'd tie in with next weeks PRP challenge!

  3. The embellishments would be fun, but it's also lovely with just the white! I agree with Vonnie and love the pleats!
